Come caving with exploration cavers Steph, Mike and Paul of the Ario Caves Project. Our spirit for adventure is contagious and our obvious passion for caving will both inspire & put you at ease.
At Yorkshire Dales Guides we cater for everyone, across all levels of caving, from ones first steps in a big open wonderland to more challenging vertical trips and we can provide all the kit needed for large groups, families and individuals.
We are passionate cavers, so don’t just give you an experience. It is important to us to share our knowledge, experience and skills so eventually you too can lead your own adventures underground, but in a safe and more informed way.
We are members of the local cave rescue team and we teach vertical rope work (SRT), rigging for rescue, self-rescue & caving first aid. We have a specially designed training barn where all vertical caving techniques can be taught expertly & safely indoors.
We’ve laid our footprints in some incredible places and we’re all about getting you there too!
For further inspiration watch us at the cutting edge of exploration in the multi-award-winning film the Ario Dream, now on amazon Prime. www.ariocavesproject.com
In addition to the caving we can offer climbing and abseiling and also navigation courses.
Guided walks are also popular and we can also provide safety cover for any event such as a Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
Challenge Days can be organised for groups who want a team event. These can be just for fun or be more involved and testing for business groups.
Team Building events for corporate groups can take place above and below ground and include rescue scenarios. From short “breakout” sessions to 1 or 2 day events.
The events are based around the principle of team building through sharing experiences. Working away from people’s normal environment, taking part in often totally new activities and using new or existing skills to work through team tasks in a very different context develops groups and individuals knowledge of each other.
The emphasis in on having some fun but the lessons learned can be far reaching. Each event is designed for your team in consultation with you.
In addition to Steph and Mike, who work full time at Yorkshire Dales Guides, there are a small number of additional instructors who are also all local and experienced. All instructors are known personally to Steph and Mike, each holds a current First Aid qualification and they are qualified in the activities they lead. They have worked with a wide range of abilities including those with special needs.
The majority are members of the local cave and fell rescue team. The instructors employed are active cavers, climbers and walkers and enjoy passing on their love of the activities as well as Yorkshire Dales. Open all year round. AALA licensed for school and youth groups.
