Sheffield City Hall is a magnificent art deco classical concert hall which has been elegantly modernised, whilst maintaining the unique atmosphere and charm of the original heritage. This Grade II listed building was designed by acclaimed architect Vincent E Harris and opened in 1932. Since then, the venue has a developed an extensive legacy where entertainment, and in particular music is concerned. The Beatles, Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix are a couple of examples of the legends which have graced the stage through to modern day icons such as One Direction, Jimmy Carr and Paloma Faith.
The venue hosts over 750 events each year, incorporating a varied and diverse programme of entertainment, arts, business and community events. Regular events include a annual comedy festival in October and Pantomime in December.
Home to the Sheffield International Concert Season, classical music has been a regular since opening. The International Concert Season attracts some of the finest orchestras and classical performers from across the world. The City Hall delivers 150 - 200 business events each year and has earned an award winning reputation for hosting some of the country’s most esteemed business and conferencing events.
