Owned and managed by St Luke's, Sheffield's hospice, Clifford House opened in September 2017 as a new service centred on offering practical support, as well as fun, relaxation and wellbeing, for anybody in Sheffield affected by an illness that has no cure.
Is Clifford House for me?
Whatever its name - cancer, motor neurone disease, HIV, incurable heart, liver or lung conditions, the list goes on - living with an incurable illness can sometimes feel unbearable. Clifford House is here for you, no matter what stage you are in that journey.
Set in tranquil gardens in the south of Sheffield, this former family home is now open for you to make your own, whether that's to relax, to socialise or simply pop in for a drink and a chat.
You don't need to be referred by your GP or healthcare professional to access Clifford House – it’s up to you. However, if you're unsure if Clifford House will be right for you, please feel free to call us on 0114 235 7650. You're also welcome to drop in at any time during our opening hours.
Each week we offer a packed programme of activities for you no matter what your interests are. Nurture your creativity and discover new talents through our wide range of creative activities – including writing workshops, craft clubs and cookery classes. Through our regular schedule of support groups and advice sessions, you can meet like-minded people, share ways to manage your condition, or discuss your situation privately with an expert member of staff. You can also find ways to stay active and improve your energy, mood and symptoms through our range of health and wellbeing activities, which include complementary therapies, 'spa days' and a range of light exercise classes such as dancing and yoga.
All activities are free to attend for anybody in Sheffield affected by an illness with no cure, including their friends, families and carers.
