Bedern Hall, York

Historic Site/Structure

Bedern Hall, dating back to the 14th century is situated in splendid isolation on Bartle Garth, yet just minutes from the city centre near Goodramgate and York Minster. Bedern Hall was built in the late 1300s with much of the original building still remaining.

Renovated in more recent years, the Hall combines the best of the old and the new.

Bedern Hall is now home to a rich roster of eclectic events, with the venue playing host to business conferences and meetings, civic events, university performance shows along with other social occasions – everything from Sherlock Holmes evenings to the Bedern Bottega wine tasting club.

The Hall is also licensed for weddings, and can provide the perfect setting for your wedding celebrations for both the ceremony and the reception.
Bedern Hall is equipped to provide modern facilities for meetings, seminars and smaller conferences. Your meetings, whether for business or pleasure, will be remembered as a special event, with high quality, imaginative menus provided by our in-house caterers.

The Hall is run on a daily basis by Roger Lee, whose catering business also provides locally sourced food tailored to suit events.

The Hall also offers an open to all policy between 10am and 4pm Tuesday to Saturday. Simply knock on the door and Roger will happily invite you in for a free tour of the facilities or you can sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of cake from the Hall’s café in the outdoor courtyard and shady garden terrace – complete with free Wi-Fi.

It’s the perfect place to quickly escape the city centre buzz.
