Yorkshire Young Sinfonia

Yorkshire is home to the “UK’s most dynamic youth orchestra”. YYS brings together young musicians from all over God’s Own County to perform with some of the biggest names in the world of classical music. Not only that, but they’re the first youth orchestra in the world to use iPads and be 100% digital!

Always one to bring the world’s best to Yorkshire for unforgettable concerts, YYS has an incredible history of performing with some of the best and most exciting soloists in the world. This includes international violin sensation Ray Chen, and Stephen Hough - one of Classic FM’s “25 greatest pianists of all time”

The orchestras dynamic and energetic approach to rehearsing and performing stems from its innovative training process, pairing young musicians with some of the leading tutors from around the world, and workshops at the cutting edge of music education, including performance psychology.

An orchestra that is always making headlines, the creation of YYS was the feature of the BBC Radio 4 documentary “Birth of an Orchestra” with Yorkshire’s very own Alan Bennett. On top of that, YYS is regularly on Classic FM, BBC Radio 3, The Telegraph, Classical Music Magazine and many more.
