The Zillah Bell Gallery attracts visitors from all over the country, who travel to Thirsk just to see what’s on!
With exhibitions changing monthly, the gallery represents and promotes an extraordinarily wide range of both established and emerging artists. The works shown include a broad range of media including painting, printmaking and ceramics.
In June 2013, the Zillah Bell Gallery opened the Upper Galleries. This is where prints by Norman Ackroyd CBE RA are displayed along with other artists throughout the year, many of which also Royal Academicians including Dame Elizabeth Blackadder RA, Professor Ian Ritchie RA and more.
The Zillah Bell Gallery is also proud to house the largest collection of Norman Ackroyd RA’s etchings in the North of England.
Each year the gallery hosts The Original Print Show, curated by Norman Ackroyd CBE RA. This shows and sells works by artists who featured in that year’s Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts.
