Please check websites of all organisations or businesses before you visit. With the current Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, many businesses are changing their opening hours.
This February half term visitors can get a taste of the world of videogames with CBBC’s online games experts.
They can explore how CBBC’s best loved characters come to life in online games, including fan favourites Danger Mouse, The Worst Witch, Operation Ouch, and The Dumping Ground. Families can try their hand at workshops with CBBC’s Education team, where they can discover the STEM skills needed to make videogames. The experts will also be showing how user testing helps to perfect the development of CBBC’s most popular games.
For those wanting a slice of the action, the play zone will be open daily with a chance to preview the latest CBBC games releases. For younger visitors and those looking for a quieter space there will also be a chill out area where visitors can explore CBeebies apps, games and stories full of everyone’s favourite CBeebies friends.
Throughout half term visitors can have a go at the free museum trail, packed with puzzles, challenges and fun facts. The museum’s popular interactive gallery, Wonderlab, will also be open to explore, with a chance to see special STEM demonstrations from the museum’s explainers and uncover the science of light and sound. The team will also be debuting a brand-new family game show in Wonderlab exploring coding, with a nod towards well known and hidden figures in computing history including Ada Lovelace and Alan Turing.
