Burley-in-Wharfedale Christmas Market and Lights Switch-on
Saturday 30th November
The 38th year of the renowned Burley-in-Wharfedale Christmas Lights promises to be better than ever with more dazzling lights, several local community groups performing and a surprise personality to switch on the lights. There will also be outdoor market stalls and rides, an indoor craft market, refreshments and Father Christmas in his sleigh.
From 1pm the outdoor market will be selling hot festive food, drink and gifts on Main Street and in Grange Park. Also on Main Street, at Queen’s Hall, the indoor Craft Market will have stalls for Christmas cards, jewellery, paintings, food and lots of other festive goods.
There will also be a tombola with lots of great prizes. Teas and cakes will be available in the Queen’s Hall and Round House, delivered by the Wharfedale Stone Roses WI.
Before the 4.30pm switch-on of our fabulous lights by our guest VIP, the Rev Jason McCullagh will say a few words and there’ll be performances by the choirs of Burley Oaks and Burley and Woodhead primary schools and the wonderful Ukulele Jammers.
This highlight of the community calendar has been organised by the Burley-in-Wharfedale Community Trust with the help of many volunteers and funding from Burley Parish Council.
Please note Main Street will be closed from 12 noon to 6 pm with a bus diversion along Grange Road (with no parking permitted).
