Lights on at Christmas Market and Craft Fair, Burley-in-Wharfedale
Saturday 1st December

NOWHERE will you find more festive cheer than in Burley-in-Wharfedale on the afternoon of its Christmas Market, Craft Fair and Lights Switch-on! This special event on Saturday 1st December is loved by thousands of locals and visitors, who come back year after year to shop, play, drink, eat and be merry with friends and family in an unbeatable atmosphere.

Visitors to this lovely Wharfedale village will be greeted by lines of stalls on Main Street and in the adjacent Grange Park selling festive food and drink and an array of gifts. And if that wasn’t enough, beautifully handcrafted items – from jewellery to paintings – will be on sale at the Craft Fair inside Queen's Hall, also on Main Street.

This hugely popular market boasts performances by a number of choirs and bands, popular fairground rides and of course, a visit from Father Christmas.

Then the big event takes place at 4.30pm, when Burley-in-Wharfedale lights up with a dazzling array of sparkling Christmas designs as far as the eye can see, some created by children from local schools.

After running the market for the 15 years, the Burley and District Chamber of Trade has this year passed the mantel to the Burley-in-Wharfedale Community Trust.
