THE STREAT FOOD AND FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL RETURNS FOR SECOND HELPING
VALLEY GARDENS, HARROGATE 25-28 August 2017
THE destination food and fun festival for the family to discover
Festival and foodie fans visiting Valley Gardens in Harrogate this summer can expect to be taken on a gastronomic journey around the world as the StrEat Food & Family Fun Festival returns to the town for a second helping over the August Bank Holiday (25-28).
The national 4-day celebration of some of the best street food from around the world, combined with fun and funky entertainment for all the family, enjoyed a hugely successful launch last year with more than 100,000 people descending on the town’s beautiful Valley Gardens – and there’s more to discover at this year’s festival.
Visitors will be served superlative street food from more than 60 handpicked traders alongside quirky entertainment from novel street performers, live music and children’s activities.
Complementing the street food traders will be a new Artisan Market featuring around 30 top producers selling a range of tasty products for festival goers to try, buy and take home.
The festival evening music scene will kick off on Friday with Dutch DJ Daan, showcasing an eclectic style of music from calypso to boogaloo all from the comfort of his vintage sofa. Saturday will feature British acoustic trio Thrill Collins, most noted for bringing the skiffle genre (using improvised instruments) to modern music. Sunday will vibe with the Voodoo Love Orchestra, similar to a New Orleans marching band. There will also be funk and soul in the fabulous shape of Cantaloop.
All manner of vehicles from horseboxes and AirStreams to Citreon H Vans and Campervans will serve a scrummy selection of street food from some 60 traders from around the world. Visitors can expect an array of colourful traders with character who will challenge the senses with a fusion of smells, tastes, sounds and food firsts – there’s something for every appetite.
From good grub to craft beer teepees and cocktail bars, bath tubs and much more – festival goers will experience an exciting energy and enthusiastic menu of food, fun and entertainment throughout this 4-day event.
