“NATURE, SKIN AND BONES” is an exciting collaboration between the sculptor SARAH SMITH, sound engineer/artist CARO C and light artist ELISA ARTESERO. This sensory experience at the Dales Countryside Museum, Hawes, explores our deep rooted and changing relationship with nature through the use of light, sound and sculptural installation.
Research for this project began with a unique collection of ancient animal bones found in caves in the Yorkshire Dales National Park some as old as 125,000 years. This led to the artists exploring the caves and terrain where the bones were found.
This project aims to present an artistic interpretation of these themes in an immersive exhibition. The artists hope it will inspire visitors to give greater consideration towards our experience of nature and our role within it.
