The North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Park Authorities remain some of the darkest places in Great Britain and we are celebrating our star-studded skies with a Dark Skies Festival from the 14th February to the 1st March 2020
Our Dark Skies Festivals are all about discovering, learning and enjoying the dark and the stars. This could mean getting out for an activity such as cycling, walking, and running, canoeing or caving at night, attending a stargazing party, or taking part in a daytime event, learning more about star constellations in planetariums or making a rocket.
There are over 100 events for families, first-time stargazers and those wishing to expand their knowledge or astrophotography skills further.
With the help of local astronomy clubs and other star loving organisations we’ll help you to discover the wonder of the night skies above your National Parks.
Join us on a nebula adventure to explore the cosmos for the fifth Dark Skies Festival. For more information go to www.darkskiesnationalparks.org.uk/about
