All Hallows Pumpkin Trail

In the run up to All Hallows’ Eve, don’t miss our spooky pumpkin trail, suitable for all the family.

From Wednesday 27 until Sunday 31 October, 10am – 4pm, explore the Museum, follow the trail and do your best pumpkin counting!

Don’t forget to collect a treat as you leave. Plus, submit your best guess for the number of pumpkins adorning the site because the closest answers will be entered into a prize draw.

The All Hallows Pumpkin Trail is included in standard Museum entry prices.

All Hallows’ Eve falls annually on the 31 October. It is the day before All Saints’ Day in the Christian Calendar, which was also traditionally called All Hallows’ Day – with the word ‘hallowed’ meaning holy. Many of the celebrations we recognise from this time of year probably derive from earlier Celtic traditions around Samhain, the Gaelic word for the end of the summer.
