Kane’s paintings are a culmination of research gathered through enquiries, internet searches, poems, written histories and oral narratives passed on by farmers, landowners and workers in villages. Throughout the public health crisis, Kane has contemplated the importance of the countryside to his art and the effect the lockdown has had on his own creative practice.
