On Sunday 27th October, the Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash will return to the streets of Yorkshire for the 34th time. The UK Athletics affiliated 10k route is flat and fast, making it an ideal race for first time runners looking for a new challenge as well as experienced racers looking to smash their Personal Best. You’re not too late to sign up, either as a team or an individual, and join the 12,000 competitors racing on closed roads through Leeds.
The route will take participants from Leeds City Centre towards the historic Kirkstall Abbey. Participants will loop back around to the city centre and cross the finish line outside Leeds Town Hall in the heart of the city. This year’s new start site means the race will begin with a slight decline and the loop around Cardigan Fields has been removed, which should hopefully result in even more PBs!
It’s shocking to hear that over 1million older people in the UK are chronically lonely and have no one to share their worries with, therefore the services that Age UK deliver are more important than ever. With your help Age UK can continue to be there for older people who feel like they’re facing later life alone.
