Come and have a lovely weekend on the Animalia Art course, where you will receive individual instruction and observe demonstrations by your teacher, Bridget Askew. You will take home inspiration, ideas, practical knowledge and perhaps a masterpiece or two. She loves to pass on her passion for art, it's so infectious that you won't want to be dragged away from your easel!
Bridget Askew is an artist working in rural Ryedale, North Yorkshire, where she gathers inspiration from the farming community and the local countryside for her work. Before moving to Ryedale she lived and worked as an artist in Lincolnshire after studying Graphic Design and Illustration at Lincoln College of Art. Now, Bridget is successfully selling her work in galleries and exhibitions in Yorkshire and Kent.
During the weekend you may work in Acrylics, pen and ink, watercolours or pastels. You may have a beloved pet, or perhaps love a certain type of animal e.g. horses, tigers, owls and wish to bring your own reference material (photo) to work from. If not, Bridget has a box full of photos to get you inspired.
She will show you how to paint/draw the perfect background to set your animals off, how to attain a 3D fur effect, how to get those glassy eyes just right, how to catch the character and lots more! All abilities welcome.
