This trans formative retreat set amidst the inspiring landscape of the Yorkshire Dales is a deep exploration of your inner landscape as a creative writer.
Join like-minded people in a supportive and appropriately challenging atmosphere as you discover new mindfulness meditation techniques. These will help you connect with yourself as a key to your creativity and your joy.
Sita Brand & Pete Armstrong have collectively dedicated over 60 years to mindfulness practice. Sita is an experienced storyteller and Pete is a writer and poet. This retreat brings together a life long vocation and honed skill sets to help you discover a new approach that will maximise your creative energy. You will become less frenetic, more focused and learn to transport this energy onto paper. A range of exercises will help you draw inspiration from your own intuition that will help you grow beyond your habit energies.
This retreat uses a person-centred approach and is suitable for writers from all disciplines, from beginners to experienced, published writers.

MORE ABOUT THE FACILITATORS
Sita listens deeply, replies honestly and values the individual. Student of world renowned Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, she is trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and has practised mindfulness meditation for 20 years. She has taught meditation and mindfulness in a range of places including prisons and runs retreats. She has a Diploma in Positive Impact Coaching and is a trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). She has 20 years experience of working in the arts and facilitating workshops for adults and young people. She has performed internationally as a storyteller and is the founder and Director of Settle Stories.
Pete has a thirst for truth and a no nonsense clarity of thinking. Pete has a degree in English from Oxford University. He has worked as a psychotherapist and group leader. As a student and teacher of meditation and the inner path, he uses mindfulness to guide his creative journey. His work as a poet and writer is known for its insight, humour and wisdom.

Set amidst the stunning scenery of Settle in the Yorkshire Dales, the retreat will take place at Settle Stories venue, The Joinery, just outside the centre of Settle. Settle is accessible by train. By car, Settle is just off the A65 and is an hour from Bradford, and 1h 20m from Manchester, 50 mins from Lancaster.
