Diversity Within the Arts: Inclusion and Intersectionality

Workshop

Description

An event to bring people together to think about theoretical and practical settings for arts education, and to highlight the importance of using research as a theoretical base for thinking and practice in visual arts education.

This inclusion event refers to the concept of intersectionality coined by African American critical theorists Hill Collins and Bilge (2016) and Crenshaw (1991), describing interwoven contexts of experience around race, gender, class and wider social identities.
