The North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales are joining forces to create their fourth annual Dark Skies Festival which will celebrate the stunning night time skies around the local area. To mark the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing, Dark Skies Festival 2019 will focus on our lunar satellite and will take place between 15th February and 3rd March 2019 with various events and activities taking place all over the moorland, dales, coast and Howardian Hills.
Join local photographer Steven Bell at Castle Howard to learn how to shoot stunning night time images as part of the Dark Skies Festival 2019.
The workshop will begin at 7pm with a presentation and instructional workshop. You will then have time to absorb all you've learnt over a tea/coffee break. The session concludes with a 1.5 hour photography session within the grounds of Castle Howard.
Tickets cost £35 or £30 for Friends of Castle Howard. This event is suitable for photographers of all abilities. Recommended equipment: either a digital or bridge camera, head torch (red light setting preferred), tripod, warm clothes, wide angle lenses (not essential).
