The Lowther Hotel’s Head Chef has created a delicious menu offering something for everyone which is frequently complemented by a specials menu.
All our fresh produce for the hotel is locally sourced, with the meat from a quality Yorkshire farm butcher and our fruit and vegetables are chosen and collected by our head chef from a local farm shop. We value quality, don’t you?

We’ve been asked quite a few times ‘Why Eddie’s Bar?’
Well, when the Aire and Calder Navigation Co decided to build a port with a canal connecting to the West Riding they had to get someone to build it. They in turn had to build somewhere for the engineers to stay as they couldn’t commute (only horse and carriage in those days) so the hotel was built by Sir Edward Banks hence Eddie’s bar! We like to think he would have approved.
The Famous Sunday Carvery
A traditional Carvery is served every Sunday from 12noon till 3pm offering the very best locally sourced Ingredients with 4 meats, 15 vegetables, a mountain of Yorkshire puddings and gallons of gravy to choose from. Gluten-free is also available.
Award Winning Breakfast
Our award winning full English Breakfast is served from 7am every morning (8am on Sunday) and includes tea or coffee and toast for just £5 per person. It’s the perfect way to start your day, with many choosing the Lowther Hotel for breakfast meetings.
