Swinton Park Cookery School is located on the Swinton Estate, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Housed in the ground floor of the converted Georgian stable wing, the school adjacent to the hotel. Light and airy throughout, the stylish décor is comfortable – a relaxed environment well-disposed to the appreciation of good food and fine wine!
The Cookery School runs a busy programme of one day and half day hands-on, practical cookery classes throughout the year. Courses can be either residential or non-residential and are available for all ages and ability levels, including children’s cookery lessons.
Run by Cookery School Chef, Kevin Hughes, known for his appreciation of diverse food cultures and modern cookery, he has an accomplished culinary background that includes extensive travel in South East Asia, where he grew up. Kevin combines passion and enthusiasm for teaching with adept technical skill and an affinity with the heritage and flavours of the Yorkshire Dales.
The courses utilise produce grown in the 4 acre walled garden at Swinton Park Hotel, with a variety of courses available from Baking, Pastries and Desserts, to the Ultimate Sunday Lunch to Modern World Street Food Classics, with an outside area ideal for barbecue courses, featuring a range of Weber grills.
