We have 6 deliveries a week from the following suppliers:

Fresh, local meat coming from Hammonds of Bainbridge

Fresh vegetables and eggs from The Goodlife of Hawes

Superb quality fresh fish, locally caught, and supplied by Hodgsons of Hartlepool

Game shot locally, quite often by Andrew Atkin the Landlord, from which some tasty specials are made such as bunny burgers on a herb crouton with a tomato, garlic and onion salsa and whole roast grouse served with game chips and a red wine sauce (according to season).

Other popular specials include baked cod fillet topped with sun-dried tomatoes, olives and Feta cheese, with a light saffron cream sauce, and roast pheasant on a mushroom and onion tartlet with red wine gravy and game chips.

Our Restaurant and Bar Menu, includes firm favourites such as cider and dill battered cod, and steak and ale pie. For dessert why not try our one of our traditional puddings such as apple, maple syrup, and pecan nut crumble, or the extremely popular ginger sponge pudding with warm toffee sauce, all made by Liz, the landlords mother.

We do recommend booking a table if you wish to sit in the restaurant, alternatively you can get the same menu in the bar and we also allow dogs in the bar areas, however tables can not be reserved.

As well as the food we also have a wide range of drinks available. With our large wine list, full of personally selected wines by Andrew you'll find it easy to choose one that will complement your meal, and of course Andrew and the staff can help you choose the best one for you. During the winter why not treat yourself to a warming glass of mulled wine.

As a Jennings pub we will always have Jennings Cumberland Ale on which is a firm favourite amongst the locals (and staff!), but why not try one of the many different CAMRA award winning guest ales such as Cockerhoop or Snecklifter, or something completely different from a micro brewery such as Ringwood's Boondoggle.
