The Ilkley Trophy is one of the highlights of the summer grass court season with world-class tennis in both the ATP Challenger and ITF women’s events. Running from 12th – 19th June 2022, the event showcases top tennis talent from around the world at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales in the beautiful town of Ilkley.

Day 2 at the LTA’s Ilkley Trophy saw five British players qualify for the main draws of the men’s ATP Challenger and women’s ITF W100 event.
Scots Maia Lumsden and Anna Brogan both came through their matches after deciding sets. Wild card Lumsden, who took out sixth seed Gabriela Ce yesterday, came from a set behind to defeat Urszula Radwanska 4-6 6-2 10-7 while Brogan held her nerve to beat American seventh seed Elvina Kalieva 6-4 2-6 10-8.
In the men’s draw, Hertfordshire’s Charlie Broom, who picked up the biggest win of his career yesterday against Gilles Simon, defeated Jason Jung 7-6(9) 6-4. 31-year-old Daniel Cox, from Lancashire, thrilled the Centre Court spectators with a win over Switzerland’s Antoine Bellie 6-4 4-6 6-2. Cox last played at the Ilkley Trophy ATP Challenger event in 2016 where he lost in the final round of qualifying.
Men’s main draw action also started on Monday at Ilkley Lawn Tennis & Squash Club. Former Wimbledon quarter-finalist Fernando Verdasco was up 6-0 1-0 when his opponent Mikhail Kukushkin retired injured. American Jack Sock, a former world No.8, got his week underway by beating compatriot Michael Mmoh 6-3 6-3.
