Ted Hughes walk and Mytholmroyd

Childhood home of iconic poet Ted Hughes

Childhood home of the late Ted Hughes, famous 20th-century British poet and previous English poet laureate, Mytholmroyd is often overshadowed by its bigger and more famous neighbour, Hebden Bridge.

It is, however, well worth a visit because of the lovely cafes and pubs and this great walk which offers lovely woodland trails, canal side paths and plenty to see and is easily done with a pram or little ones.

Rochdale Canal Path

The best family-friendly trail is a 2.5-mile circular that starts from Ted Hughes’ house and goes through the pretty hamlet of Brearley and along the Rochdale Canal. For more information on the route, see the full blog here.
