Used the app, Just Park, that the Silver Street Car Park recommends. Paid £3.90 via the app. Got a £100 fine 2 weeks later. Wrote to DVLA, who had passed on my address. Wrote to Just Park too. Got a reply from DVLA, who had investigated. Apparently their system had not registered that I had paid?!? But I had proof of payment from screenshots off the app. DVLA have warned the company that this should not be happening!! All seems VERY DODGY to me...
No problems at all stayed there 3 nights safe as a bank vault
DO NOT park or even 'stop off' here to remove bags !!!!. ZPPS own the car park and are clearly there for extortion. Just block a street for 10 mins... so much easier... read on : Overnight parking fee is only 50p overnight until 08:00. However I finally found my destination with no phone charge and in storm Darra. It was dark and lashing it down with rain. Sodden wet I managed to get our bags into the B&B very near, and could not pay the charge as I couldn't even see the payment machine for the dark and rain and didn't have a 50p coin on me (phone out of charge). Instead I made the conceous effort to get up early and moved the car from here at 07:00 and even then got soaking wet. Regardless, I then got a ticket and threatend to court to pay £170 !!!! (for a 50p fee). This is a RIP off company.
Not advisable if you stay in accommodation in the area. The pricing for the day is straightforward but overnight is extra but alot of folk had £100 parking fines. We decided to park round the corner on Hudson Street just to be safe with our parking scratchcard you can get from Whitby Council
Great location, easy to pay and top up with phone app. Filled up quickly but only had 4 seagull deposits to clean off after staying there 4 days!! Good car park, option to cover if car scratched, I left our bikes in car, no problem x
