You&#8217;ll see the latest and best re-enactments in Yorkshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of these live events at heritage sites is to give everyone a really fun day out, whilst learning&nbsp;a little more about how our ancestors lived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Military Museums<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Royal Armouries Museum<\/strong>, Leeds hosts spectacular live demonstrations, lavish re-enactments and jousting tournaments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Eden Camp<\/strong> transports visitors back in time in North Yorkshire. Housed in an original Prisoner of War Camp.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Yorkshire Air Museum, near York<\/strong>\u00a0will shortly become the proud caretaker of the remarkable Nimrod military reconnaissance aircraft, which remains in service in revised form for the foreseeable future. The only museum in the world to have a live example on display.\u00a0\u00a0Nimrod MR2, XV250 made its <strong>last flight<\/strong> from RAF Kinloss into semi retirement\u00a0at Elvington on\u00a0Tuesday 13<sup>th<\/sup> April.\u00a0\u00a0XV250 will take part in the Museum\u2019s regular \u201cThunder Days\u201d.\u00a0 Joint winner of the 2010\u00a0York Tourism Awards for Best Marketing Campaign.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>York Cold War Bunker<\/strong> is English Heritage&#8217;s most modern, most unusual and perhaps most spine-chilling site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Richmond Castle<\/strong> imprisoned conscientious objectors in the keep during World War I.
