I had a day out with friends in York and we had brunch here. The service was good and the atmosphere was lovely as well. Atmosphere: We were offered the outdoor seating due to the indoor being full and it ended up being a better option for us. Food: The food was good, there was a variety of delicious meals and pastries to choose from. The cherry scone was my favourite. Service: Staff were polite and courteous. We requested different adjustment to our meals and they made sure to sort it out for us. Pricing: It was a little pricy I’ll say. We spent nearly £90 for two servings of scrambled eggs on sourdough, a side of squashed avocado, two sides of smoked salmon, some extra eggs, a vegetarian breakfast, two pastries and three pots of teas.
Overrated! I appreciate prices reflect the location, but here is another level for an average cafe. Food is decent, but not worth the price. You dont expect paying £100 for 3 people for breakfast and drinks including service charge. E.g. ham&cheese toast being £17 is just crazy. Staff is nice, definitely didn't like sitting in the extension part of the cafe (tent in the garden). We all struggled in the tent being so warm with humidity. Service was insanely low, waited around an hour. I wouldn't mind if it wasn't for the humidity in the tent. At least, we booked a table in advance so didn't wait in the queue. 09/10/2025 visit. We only visited for coffee this time as my friends keep offering to go here. Paid £4 for flat white, poor coffee this time, not sure if they have changed their barista as i enjoyed in my previous visits.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely delightful experience! Patisian in York is a hidden gem. The brunch and pastries are not only delicious but truly exceptional, crafted with evident care and creativity. I had the Sobrasada toast, and let me tell you, it was an astronomical experience. Yes, it's "just" toast, but it was bursting with flavour and soul. You can really taste the love and dedication in every bite. The place itself is adorable: cute, artistic, and full of charm. The staff are incredibly kind, mainly women, profeaaional and welcoming atmosphere. Service was top-notch from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone looking to indulge in a memorable brunch in York.
Came here for lunch with some colleagues as we were in a meeting room nearby. We sat out the back in their covered marquee area which was nice. All the staff we interacted with were really friendly. I had the Ham and cheese toastie which was really good. Loads of cheese, loads of ham, in lovely thick crispy bread which I think had been fried so was all lovely and greasy from the cheese. Said it was served with 'home fries' but was really small potatoes that were fried so were lovely and soft, however there really wasn't many of them. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. Although the food was really good, I'd say that £17 for a ham and cheese toastie is a bit much. Luckily work was paying, but I'm not sure I could justify that if I was paying myself, when you can get a proper meal in a restaurant for the same price.
Discovering Partisan Cafe: A Culinary Gem Worth the Wait! If you’re looking for a delightful dining experience that combines indulgent flavors with top-notch service, look no further than Partisan Cafe. Nestled just a 10-minute walk from the station, this charming eatery has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. **A Taste of Excellence** From the moment you step inside, the inviting atmosphere sets the stage for a culinary adventure. The menu is a treasure trove of delectable options, with an impressive selection for both vegetarian and vegan diners. Whether you're craving a hearty meal or a light snack, Partisan Cafe delivers big portions that will satisfy any appetite. One of the highlights of my visit was the French toast. It was nothing short of amazing! Perfectly golden-brown and fluffy, it was topped with delicious fruits and a drizzle of maple syrup that made each bite heavenly. It’s a must-try that will leave you dreaming of your next visit. **Service That Shines** The service at Partisan Cafe truly stands out. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and well taken care of. Even with the long queue outside, the team manages to keep the atmosphere lively and pleasant, making the wait worthwhile. **A Space to Enjoy** The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with a great space at the back that’s perfect for relaxing with friends or family. However, given its popularity, the lack of a waiting area can be a bit challenging during peak times. An expansion next door would be a fantastic addition, allowing more guests to enjoy this culinary haven without the wait. **Final Thoughts** In conclusion, Partisan Cafe is a definite must-visit for anyone in the area. With its indulgent food, excellent service, and vibrant atmosphere, it’s easy to see why patrons are willing to wait in line for a table. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by and experience the magic for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!
