Earworm Records

I’ve been buying records since I was 8, I’m now 58. I recently visited York and though these guys didn’t offer the largest selection of LPs in the genre I’m particularly interested in, the shop had a good cross genre selection of originals and some repressings, priced well, graded well, and the number of people who popped in while I was there was adequate indication of the popularity of the store, and no wonder, they were the most genuine and collector centric of the four stores I visited that day in the city. I left with two LPs. Good enough for me.!

I was visiting York for a day and emailed ahead to see if any records I was looking for were in stock. One was and it was kept for me to pick up. After a quick pint in The Snickleway Inn I popped down the side alley and collected my vinyl. Great record shop, cool location, friendly staff. The vinyl I bought was in good condition and plays nicely. Top shop!

This is a york institution it's up there with trembling madness and the minster. One if the best record shops in the uk along with crash in leeds and picadilly in Manchester. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and not sniffy like lots of other record shops. You can play any record you want on two turntables before you buy. But what really sets it apart is the prices and the breadth of music they have. Too many record shops now are all about profit. Here everything is fairly priced they value their customers. I have bought loads of records from here at half the price compared to other record shops. Every time you go on there is new stock and some really rare stuff. These guys are the benchmark how to run a record shop keep up the good work.

Great little record shop with an excellent selection of jazz (Nice!). Sharp pricing as well! Friendly and knowledge staff. Make sure and check the shop out if you are in York.

Not easy to find (look for a little alleyway leasing to it), but a great little record shop. Friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely go again.
