Swinton Park is a luxury castle hotel set in 200 acres of parkland in the Yorkshire Dales. It has been a family home since the late 1800s and has played host to country house parties of legendary style and grandeur. Mark and Felicity Cunliffe-Lister are enormously proud to welcome you to join them to continue this tradition. The earliest part of the castle dates from the late 1600s which has since been extended, castellated and furnished during both the Georgian and Victorian eras. The drawing room, sitting room and morning room are all graciously furnished with antique furniture and family portraits and offer the guest many a quiet moment to absorb the timeless elegance of an English country house. All 31 bedrooms are individually designed on the theme of a Yorkshire town, dale, garden, castle or abbey and enjoy fabulous views over the parkland. The Turret Suite is in a class of its own, set on three circular floors complete with a Victorian rain bath. A new Family Suite, Semerwater, is available from January 2012 and offers a Barons category room with adjoining twin/double with shower room. There is a spa with a wide selection of face, body, beauty and complementary therapy treatments. The restored orangery in the grounds are home to a Bird of Prey Centre. Our Head Chef, Simon Crannage, enjoys an enviable reputation for the quality of the food served at Samuel's. Swinton Park's 3 AA rosette Restaurant. The emphasis in the restaurant menu is on seasonal and local produce inspired by the fruit, vegetables and herbs grown in the hotel's four acre walled garden (the largest hotel kitchen garden in the UK), and the menus change accordingly. The Cookery School is housed in the former Georgian stables with a wide range of residential and day courses designed to suit all levels of experience and ages. Rosemary Shrager (seen on Ladette to Lady, The Alan Titchmarsh Show and her own cooking series, School for Cooks, filmed at Swinton Park Cookery School) runs the two-day residential courses.
