Food and Drink

Eateries aplenty

As with lots of North Yorkshire market towns, you are not short on places to taste some fine culinary delights – and Malton certainly doesn’t let the side down. Here’s a couple of must visit locations:

Contemporary British cooking delivering delicious food is always guaranteed at The Talbot. Here they champion the use of fresh seasonal produce from local suppliers and their own garden so guests can expect exciting flavours showcasing the best of Yorkshire.

Scampston’s Garden Café is beautifully situated, over-looking the Walled Garden. The Café serves delicious, home-made lunches and cream teas using local ingredients. Sit outside on a summer’s day and enjoy a Brymor Ice Cream or a bottle of locally brewed beer.

ROOST is a family run coffee roastery supplying wholesale and retail beans to consumers, independent coffee shops, restaurants and retailers. As they drink coffee everyday prices need to be sustainable. Of course they want traceable and ethically sourced commodities, but these can be found at a sensible cost.

Beautifully located in a converted cart shed on our traditional working farm, the Whole Hogg Farm Shop and Tearoom, enjoys a picturesque and tranquil setting close to the banks of the River Derwent in Ryedale, North Yorkshire. With real old-fashioned charm, this Farm Shop boasts a well stocked butchery and delicatessen and sells a wide selection of traditional farmhouse produce including organic vegetables, jams, chutneys, bread and home-baking.
