A brand new “pop-up” cider bar has opened in Hebden Bridge Station. The Parcel Office Bar is now open every weekend within the ‘Coffee Station’ café on platform 2.
The Parcel Office Bar features a range of artisan cider, both draught and bottled, as well as draught and bottled real ales, Belgian Beers and good quality wines.
At this new “pop-up” cider bar, visitors can sample the sharpness of the delightfully named Burnard’s Okey Dokey from Norfolk, the full-bodied Janet’s Jungle Juice from Westcroft in Somerset or a Welsh oak aged perry (made from pears). Customers can also taste Yorkshire ciders from Moorlands Farm in East Yorkshire or the range of ciders made from apples grown on the Ampleforth Abbey estates in North Yorkshire. Or simply drop in for a cup of freshly brewed coffee and a bite to eat. You’ll be in good company!
The Parcel Office Bar is supplied by Hebden Bridge based The Real Cider Company suppliers of artisan cider, perry, apple juice and speciality drinks. For more information see www.realcidercompany.co.uk.
Cider tasings will take place at the bar this Autumn and Winter.
Yorkshire Tapas style food now available including vegetarian, gluten free and traditional pork pies.
Hebden Bridge station, situated on the mainline from Leeds to Manchester and located close to the heart of Hebden Bridge is an ideal location for a new cider bar. Renovated in 1997 the station is unusual in that it retains most of its 19th century features including the historic black and white railway signs. The cider bar is situated in The Old Parcel Office which once saw the weekly dispatch of hundreds of parcels to all parts of the Great Britain. Today you can soak up the atmosphere of this traditional station while enjoying a glass of the finest hand-crafted cider (or beer).
