Cycle Holme Moss

Test your stamina against the iconic Holme Moss, part of the Yorkshire Grand Depart, Tour de France route 2014. It’s steep, exposed and brilliant! Take part in the Cote de Holme Moss Sportive each July, or test yourself to the limit in the Original Holme valley Mountain Bike Challenge.

From Folk Festivals, to agricultural shows, and sheepdog trials to arts festivals, there’s a packed events programme from May to November. Experience the sound of the Valleys at the Holme Valley Brass Band Contest, or Brass Factor. Join in the fun at Holmfirth Festival of Folk, and Shepley Spring Festivals in May. In summer, Holmfirth Art Week and Holmfirth Arts Festival are great opportunities to view and buy art from local artists.

A night to remember

One of the most unique small gigging venues, Picturedrome in Holmfirth, hosts live concerts in this funky old cinema nearly every weekend from favourites like Billy Bragg, and Bad manners.
