The Wetherby Whaler opened its fifth and most prestigious restaurant and take away in Guiseley in May 2012. The premises is the original site of the iconic Harry Ramsdens - regarded by many as the ‘spiritual home of fish and chips’ in Yorkshire.
Following a £750,000 refurbishment we have restored the restaurant to its former glory, maintaining the historic features of the building, including high ceilings, stained glass, oak panelling and crystal chandeliers. There is even a baby grand piano played most Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays by our resident pianist.
At the Wetherby Whaler we pride ourselves on the value and quality of our food and the produce we use. We source local produce where possible and work closely with trusted local suppliers to bring the highest quality to our customer’s plate. Our haddock is Icelandic caught from sustainable fishing grounds and is delivered to us on a daily basis to all our five restaurants. The haddock is then carefully and expertly cut and prepared in house by our dedicated fish cutters.
As well as our famous 'Fish and Chips' we offer a wide selection on our menus, including 'Meals Deals' for the children and Special Offers for Senior Citizens.
