About Forage Bar & Kitchen

The restaurant is located in the beating heart of York city centre, serving up contemporary European cuisine cooked over fire. The seasonal, monthly changing menus use high-quality, locally sourced and foraged ingredients to add fresh and eco-friendly flavours to a small-plate, sociable, and affordable fine dining experience – with example dishes including onglet steak with braised butter beans, foraged wild garlic and goats curd; coffee rubbed pork belly bao buns with salsa macha and kimchi mayonnaise; creamy smoked burrata, with a pickled plum and beetroot salad; Zataar marinaded lamb rump, served with sumac tzatki, mint chutney and pomegranate; ribeye of beef with herb pesto, confit garlic and truffle, and charred oyster mushroom skewers with tamari, agave and walnut ketchup.

There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes too, with Forage’s renowned confit potatoes bringing in rave reviews. For those with little ones, the Little Foragers menu, where children can choose a plate with side, dessert and drink for £9.50, boasts a selection of freshly prepared dishes such as pork belly bao buns, forage fried chicken, and warm chocolate chip cookies with ice-cream.

The city of York’s largest cocktail menu offers an extensive range of over 100 fresh cocktails, with plenty more off-menu from the experienced and knowledgeable bartenders. Forage also includes one of York’s two speakeasies – Wild by Forage – a cosy and elevated drinking experience serving bespoke one-of-a-kind cocktails in an intimate bar setting, with unique flavours designed from the in-house distillery and drinks lab.

Forage Bar & Kitchen is open seven days a week, with Wild by Forage open Wednesday – Sunday. Plates at the restaurant start from £4, rising to £29 for the ribeye steak and confit garlic, with truffle and a herb pesto dressing.

  1. ***This giveaway was ended early at the request of the prize provider.*** This is actually against Advertising Standards Authority guidelines to end a giveaway early. Just so you are aware for future reference.
