Whether it's a day down on the farm learning how to milk the cows or an African adventure getting up close and personal with a very large cat...there are plenty of animals in Yorkshire.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Doncaster provides a walkthrough experience that is unique in the UK. Visitors to its Lion Country reserve enjoy an on foot safari in safety along its 800m of pathway into the reserve that is home to 13 lions rescued from a Romanian Zoo.

Thornton Hall Farm Country Park is a family run, spotlessly clean, Award Winning Country Farm Park, situated on the border of Pendle and the Yorkshire Dales. Experience hands on animal encounters on the traditional working farm, hitch a ride with a 4 x 4 Adventure Experience and relax in the country tearoom while the little ones burn off the remainder of their energy in the huge fun filled Wizzick Play Barn

Heeley City Farm, offers a relaxing slice of the countryside in Sheffield. You can meet friendly animals, play in the under 8's playground and enjoy some healthy vegan and vegetarian food in the farm kitchen.

SMJ Falconry Centre, a family-run business based in Oxenhope near the Bronte village of Haworth. Learn all about falconry and have a first-hand experience of handling and flying birds of prey. (please note bookings are essential, making your visit all about you). We have over 50 different birds, ranging from the smallest owls through hawks, falcons and a large eagle. As an additional attraction, we have the facility to show our working ferrets and to demonstrate ferret racing!

Coniston Hall Falconry Centre - The Owl and Hawk. An experience to suit family groups or couples, held mid to late afternoon, every day. This one hour experience gives a taste of our wonderful falconry experience. There are many different experiences to choose from and we can accommodate groups of all sizes and ages too. Advance bookings are essential and you should allow around two hours for your visit to the centre. Our knowledgeable falconers will demonstrate the birds’ flying techniques, and will have the birds flying to and from the glove.

The International Centre for Birds of Prey in Helmsley has the largest collection of birds of prey in the north of England. Housing birds from the tiny Burrowing Owl to the gigantic Steller's Sea Eagle, there is lots to see for all ages. The birds are flown three times a day. This is a great time to take photographs. Situated next to the historic Duncombe Park house the site covers about 10 acres.

Cannon Hall Farm, in Barnsley mixes the fascination of a working farm with anarchic fun of an adventure playground and the comfort of good food. Clamber through a forest of slides, ropes and tubes, families can feed grain to waiting cattle, individuals marvel at the birth of sheep, cows, llamas, exotic pigs and donkeys.

Flamingo Land Resort Yorkshire, If you are looking for white knuckle thrills, there is a sensational collection of 8 extreme rides, including the latest roller coaster Hero that puts visitors in a superhero flying position before swooping them around a track. Playdale Farm Park. Now in its seventh season it is a must for everyone, come rain or shine, you and your children will have a great time! Situated near Scarborough on the Yorkshire Coast on the outskirts of the village of Cayton, the farm is packed with things to do to entertain your children whatever the weather. The huge indoor play area includes ball pool, tractor zone, adventure trail and much more!
