Seats on trains over the Christmas period have been released today. A limited number of tickets are available for travel on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day but almost no services are available on Christmas Day or Boxing Day:

Tourist trains
Some people just like the train, especially if it’s a Christmas steam service or a miniature track. It can be a great way to entertain a big family gathering and, depending on the service, will be suitable for most family members (check before you travel for arrangements pushchairs and wheelchairs).

Based in Huddersfield this narrow gauge railway has a Santa Express on selected dates during December

One hour steam train rides from Bolton Abbey near Skipton with Santa from the end of November:
