In the heart of the North York Moors is the valley of Rosedale. Still more of a farming community than tourist spot the walk passes some lovely countryside and alongside the now disabled railway of the last century.

From the gorgeous village of Rosedale Abbey head up the quiet and unspoilt North Dale. Before long climb in to some woodland above Rosedale before dropping down, over some access land, to join the Old Railway. The line was built to transport iron ore from the mines in Rosedale to connect to the network at the head of the dale. The walk follows the old line for over a mile to Dale Head Farm. Then cross the valley and continue along fields and open countryside back to Rosedale Abbey.
