The Empire Cinema in Catterick Garrison, a much loved member of the Empire Cinemas family, has undergone a major transformation after reopening in September 2024 following a closure in July 2023.

Located in the popular Princes Gate Shopping Park, the 7-screen multiplex cinema was more than just a picture house; it was a hub of entertainment for the local community. As well as standard seating, the cinema featured luxury recliner and sofa seating. But after a quiet period, the cinema has been given a new lease of life by Savoy Cinemas.

Empire Cinema Catterick History

The Empire Cinema Catterick was a popular destination in Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire. The modern multiplex cinema offered state-of-the-art facilities and a lively atmosphere. One of a number of cinemas in the UK run by Empire Cinemas, it screened all the latest releases in 2D and 3D.

However, in mid-2023 Empire Cinemas UK went into administration and a number of cinemas, including the Catterick branch, closed. Unlike some others, the Empire Catterick was left closed for over a year before a new operator was found.

Old Empire Cinema Facilities

The old Empire Cinema featured a IMPACT screen with vibrant colours and powerful sound. The 7 screen multiplex had something for everyone, with luxury recliner seats and sofa seating in one of the screens. The cinema was a great day out for all the family, with a range of snacks and amenities on offer. Located on Richmond Road in the popular Princes Gate Shopping Park, it was a popular destination for locals and visitors to Catterick Garrison and the surrounding area.

Savoy Cinemas Catterick

Savoy Cinemas, a well known UK cinema chain, reopened the Catterick Garrison cinema on September 27, 2024. Managing Director James Collington and his team made a number of improvements to the cinema while keeping it's character intact. State of the art laser projectors shine with brighter, more vibrant colours than ever before. With it's new facilities and warm welcome, the cinema is once again the perfect day out for the people of Catterick Garrison and the surrounding area.
