Yorkshire is abuzz with events this weekend with Pulp playing tomorrow in Sheffield and the ever important Slingsby Duck Race at 2pm on Saturday. There’s something for every group and every budget.

If you really want to get a flavour of Yorkshire culture whilst visiting, try Brassed On! in Barnsley for free brass band music throughout Saturday. The Glass Works Square, Alhambra Shopping Centre and Peel Square will play host to free brass band music all day.

Rainy day activities

Don’t get caught out by the weather – there are still great activities for families including Stump Cross Caverns, which is open and accessible in all weathers. With a sandpit, outdoor activities, café, cinema room and space for camper vans, Stump Cross is a great stop-off on your way through the Dales towards Harrogate or the coast.

Yorkshire is a fantastic place to visit it’s so wide and varied: you’ve got the Yorkshire Dales to the seaside resorts of Whitby and Scarborough. Everybody should come and visit Yorkshire – it’s so beautiful.
