Kilnsey Park is a family visitor attraction in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Spend a day with us exploring and having fun – you can catch a fish, say hello to the animals and then enjoy a meal in the cosy café.

Kilnsey Park offers activities for all the family including fun fishing, friendly farm animals and a nature trail with butterfly garden and rare orchids. The trail has lots of perfect spots to enjoy a picnic, relax and let the children play. We also well known for our high quality angling in two spring fed lakes for those wanting to catch a fish in this stunning location. Seasonal events and treasure trails mean that there’s always something going on – please see the website for further information.

The Café by the Lake is open every day for a full menu of local Dales dishes, light snacks and teas. You can also take home a taste of the Dales from the shop, which stocks a selection of gifts and local produce including our award-winning fresh and smoked fish.

We pride ourselves on being one of the country’s greenest visitor attractions. As you walk around learn about how we generate our own electricity and heat our own buildings using nature. Other activities available on the Estate include pony trekking at nearby Conistone and fly fishing on the River Wharfe.

Kilnsey Park is part of the Kilnsey Estate which dates back to the 1200s. Originally farmed by monks from Fountains Abbey it was given by Henry VIII to one of his nobles and later passed to the Roberts family, who continue to live there today.

Times and prices: Open Easter to September 9.30-5.30; October to March 10.00-4.00; Discovery Trail admission prices: Adults £4.50, children/concessions £3.50, family ticket £14 (season tickets are also available). Free parking and wi-fi.

New outdoor wedding venue

Couples wishing to get married in the great outdoors can now exchange their vows at a new venue in the scenic Yorkshire countryside.

Kilnsey Park Estate near Grassington recently became the first place in the Yorkshire Dales where civil ceremonies can take place in the middle of a hay meadow.

The family-run Estate and visitor attraction, once owned by the monks of Fountains Abbey, recently hosted its first ceremony and wedding. Mat and Lucy Evans from Leeds were the first couple to tie the knot.
