With themes including Treasure Hunts, Spy Missions and Murder Mysteries, Treasure Trails provide the perfect solution to responsible entertainment; close to home, socially distanced and can be enjoyed as part of your daily exercise.

Treasure Trail booklets cost £9.99 (plus P&P if required), are suitable for up to five people and designed to appeal to all ages. Trails are also available to buy online and download to print at home, and therefore can remain completely contactless.

Lasting around two hours, each Trail has its own specific theme and makes use of well-known local landmarks, signs, statues, monuments, images, engravings or any other unique or eye-catching features to create an exciting adventure.

From remote locations to wide-open spaces, there are hundreds of Treasure Trails to choose from across the country, whether you’re budding buccaneers, mini Miss Marples or undercover secret agents.

  1. Richmond – Treasure Hunt, 2.5+ hours, 2 miles

This Trail follows thoroughfares, narrow lanes and riverside paths which offer fantastic views of the town and surrounding area. Highlights include Richmond Castle, Culloden Tower and the Georgian Theatre Royal.

  1. Thirsk – Heart of Herriot County– Treasure Hunt, 2.5+ hours, 2.5 miles

The Trail starts and finishes in the marketplace and takes you around Thirsk. You will pass many key historical points of interest where the author behind James Herriot practised as a vet.

  1. Harrogate Pirates in Valley Gardens– Treasure Hunt, 1.5+ hours, 1.2 miles

This picture-clue only Trail, designed for younger adventurers, starts at the town centre end of Valley Gardens. The route keeps within the boundaries of these wonderfully varied gardens throughout.

  1. Leeds City Centre – Yards and Arcades– Murder Mystery, 2 hours, 1.75 miles

This Trail starts in the Trinity shopping centre and explores the varied arcades and yards. Enjoy ‘The Knightsbridge of the North’ as you explore in and around the main thoroughfare of Briggate, as well as taking in the Minster and the Corn Exchange.

  1. York Chocolate and Sweet Trail– Murder Mystery, 1.25 hours, 1.25 miles

Explore picturesque ‘chocolate-box’ streets, dive into the famous sweet museum, and unwrap amazing stories behind Terry’s, Rowntree and other kings of confectionery.

  1. Bolton Abbey Explorer – Treasure Hunt, 5+ hours, 7 miles

Starting in the village of Bolton Abbey, you’ll be solving clues in the village and the priory ruins. The Trail then takes you to explore the riverside at Cavendish Pavilion and the Bolton Abbey Estate.

  1. Sheffield – Heart of the City– Treasure Hunt, 2 hours, 1.8 miles

Explore the wonders of the tropical Winter Garden, marvel at the amazing architecture of iconic buildings, and uncover twisting-tales from the past along the way.

  1. Stamford Bridge and Beyond– Murder Mystery, 3 hours, 2.5 miles

This delightful driving Trail takes you through the nearby villages of High Catton, Fangfoss, Barmby Moor and Wilberfoss. This scenic drive down winding country roads alongside rolling fields finishes in historic Stamford Bridge.

  1. Skipton – Spy Mission, 2 miles, 2 hours

Your mission will lead you along the canal towpath on a scenic walk behind the castle. You then head back to explore the centre of town and finish at the canal basin.

  1. Whitby West Cliff & Pannett Park – Spy Mission, 2 miles, 2 hours

This scenic Trail starts at Whitby Train Station and heads through the old shopping streets of Baxtergate before exploring the peace and tranquillity of Pannett Park. You will then head up to West Cliff to enjoy superb views across the harbour to the Abbey, before heading back down to finish on West Pier.
