Beacon Alpacas

Beacon Alpacas

About

Description

Farmers’ daughter Jacki Barlow founded Beacon Alpacas in 2009 on a purpose built farm set in the peaceful Hambleton Hills in Husthwaite. A completely outdoor activity alpacas are naturally good at social distancing so with procedures in place this is a safe activity to do in the fresh air of North Yorkshire, wrap up warm in winter. One of the most popular  activities for local people and visitors to Yorkshire is Walking with Alpacas in our beautiful countryside. We offer animal lovers the chance to meet our alpaca herd to get up close and friendly with these fascinating creatures. More of a leisurely stroll with your alpaca around the farm and along the bridleways the walk offers wonderful views over the Vale of York and White Horse at Kilburn.  Alpacas, part of the Camelid family, originate in South America and are bred for their naturally soft, warm fleece, which can be made into a wide variety of products such as socks scarves, jumpers, throws and even duvets and luxury rugs. Children must be over 7 years old to lead an alpaca
