Business Intelligence Analyst
Title: BI Analyst Location: Leeds (Hybrid, 2-3 days per week in the office) Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 DOE Industry: Insurance The Opportunity I'm currently working with a well-established insurance organisation based in Leeds that is looking to hire a BI Analyst to join its growing data and analytics team. You'll work closely with stakeholders from across the business to understand reporting requirements, develop insightful dashboards and ensure key decision-makers have access to accurate and actionable data. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports for stakeholders across the organisation. Analyse business performance data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement. Gather reporting requirements from business users and translate them into effective BI solutions. Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract, manipulate and analyse data. Ensure the accuracy, consistency and quality of reporting across multiple data sources. Work closely with Data Engineers and wider technology teams to improve reporting capabilities. Produce regular management information and KPI reporting for senior leadership. Support ad-hoc analysis to answer key business questions. Document reporting processes and maintain reporting standards. Promote best practices around reporting, data quality and business intelligence. Essential Skills and Experience Previous experience as a BI Analyst, Data Analyst or similar role. Strong SQL skills with experience querying relational databases. Experience developing dashboards using Power BI. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data. Experience gathering business requirements and working with stakeholders. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment. Desirable Skills Previous experience within the insurance, financial services or other regulated industries. Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling. Exposure to Python or R for data analysis. Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
