Came here for the Map Men book signing event today! Great environment, and very warm and welcoming, I was quite nervous at first so this was helpful. The staff were really attentive and nice. Easy to navigate and staff were vocal on where to go/queue for event. Seems like a generally nice store although we didn’t buy anything (event was on after the store had closed, I imagine we wouldn’t have been allowed to browse the store to buy much!) I would definitely return to a Waterstones book event.
Waterstones café is such a wonderful place to spend time. It’s calm, cosy, and perfect for just sitting down with a good book and a nice cup of coffee. The atmosphere is peaceful, the seating is comfortable, and being surrounded by books makes it feel extra special. A perfect little spot to relax, read, and unwind.
I had an excellent experience today. After I bought my book Genital Grinder I thought I'd relax and pursue the fiction section, I felt a little underwhelmed as they didn't quite have the fantasy I usually read. I spoke to a red haired lady upstairs at the till by the cafe. I was absolutely amazed at her up selling skill, it verged somewhere along ruthless, but done with such amazing attitude and goodwill she nearly got me. I have to say I was impressed with her skill , I nearly bought the Conan Compendium. She was a temptress of the highest order. I say give this woman a raise, I will be disappointed if she isn't commander and chief of the whole universe by my next visit. Definitely coming back
Fantastic store nothing beats an in person bookstore. Spacious. Calm environment. And a lot of good books. Visited August 2025
My go-to place whenever I get a free couple of hours at the weekend to read over a delicious coffe and sweet treat. The staff are just wonderful - such a joy to interact with, always asking about your day or what book you’re reading as they prepare your drink and unwaveringly welcoming. I rarely omit a trip here whenever i’m in Leeds - Simply adore it
