It was twice distilled in copper stills and the result garnered a "Best of the Best" Best Aged Mezcal from the 2012 Tequila.net Awards. ### Product Description Ilegal Joven Mezcal is one example of the brand?s great drink variety. It is distilled from fermented Espadín agaves. This type of agave is the genetic predecessor of the blue agave, the traditional basis of tequila. In the case of Ilegal Joven, the Espadín agave once again proves its versatility by triggering aromas of citrus, green apple and a hint of white pepper.
