Boots Pharmacy

Good service when in store and Liz (the pharmacist) is always excellent. However, ringing the store and getting someone to answer is so frustrating. We and my Mum’s care company have to ring the store on a regular basis and there are very few times when the call is answered. If you stay on the phone, you eventually get a message advising all the staff are busy and are then cut off. I was in the store on 1 April AM and noted two members of staff - one serving behind the counter and one on the sales floor. The phone was ringing and neither of the staff attempted to answer it. Very poor customer service. It’s not always convenient for us or the care company staff to drive into Pocklington and visit the store - to have the conversations we need to have. My Mum is unable to visit the store as she has very limited mobility - so her only way of making contact is by phone. I understand that your store is busy but ignoring customers who ring up is absolutely shocking. Please sort this out ASAP - as I’m sure we’re not alone in having this very frustrating existence. Thank you.

I was there to pick up my order, and the assistant asked where I was from, which didn’t seem relevant. I had already given my name and surname. It felt inappropriate, and perhaps they should focus more on helping customers than making personal remarks. Maybe some staff training in communication and customer service would help!

Had exactly what I needed, helpful staff

I waited outside for 10 mins today and the store did not open I left just after 9.05 as my little one needed the toilet, I rang boots HQ to complain that the store did not open at 9am and no one picked up the phone in the 3 times I rang the store. I was advised that the store is not allowed to open if the pharmacist is not present. I said well surely if that is the case then a sign placed in the window explaining that they aren't allowed to open unless the pharmacist is present, when the other staff arrived would be appropriate. Consequently I received a call from the store manager offering that the pharmacists wife was taken poorly and the pharmacist had to take her to hospital, that's all very well and I hope she is ok but it doesn't explain where the rest of the staff were whilst I rang the store 3 times !!

Had to go in today because my pharmacy (cohens) was closed, and my prescription was due yesterday so I ran out of tablets. They were so helpful in there and managed to sort everything out for me. Unfortunately they seemed really under staffed so I felt really bad for them - but the 2 that were on today were so lovely, can’t fault them.
