We’re Still Yorkshire’s Most Magnificent Attraction At Any Time Of The Year!
The popularity of Winter at Flamingo Land has made this a permanent fixture on our annual calendar. So, for 2014-15, we’re aiming to make your day even more enjoyable than ever before! For the very first time Santa has taken a break from his busy schedule to join us at the Mansion House & Tea Rooms.
VISIT SANTA IN THE MANSION HOUSE
Santa will be sitting by the fireplace at the newly restored Mansion House & Tea Rooms - an elegant Georgian building serving brunch, Christmas Lunch and Afternoon Tea. With the purchase of a Children's Menu at £4.95 (and an adult meal) your child can meet Santa and receive a Gift. As places are limited, reserve your table now on these Santa dates by calling the Mansion House on 01653 908424:
29th and 30th Nov, 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th Dec
For those not eating a visit to Santa and receive a gift is £3.50 per child. Admission if first required into the Zoo.
There’ll be a free festive "twelve days of Christmas" Zoo Trail too, plus delicious seasonal treats and more!
Flamingo Land’s zoo will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day, allowing you to enjoy over 140 species of reptiles, mammals and birds. This extends to Children's Planet (including Reptile River), Muddy Duck Farm, Treetop Walkway and the Aquarium, plus our two walkthrough enclosures, providing visitors with a truly unrestricted view and the opportunity for up-close encounters with our lemur and wallaby families.
Winter at Flamingo Land’s a great opportunity to catch up with the progress of our new arrivals too, especially Kuasa, Bulan and Mentari, our Sumatran tiger cubs. And, if you look up into the trees as you walk away from the Sumatran tiger enclosure, you’ll catch a glimpse of our red pandas - a truly delightful addition that's already become sensationally popular.
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY
In addition to being the UK’s most visited zoo, we know that many guests love our fantastic rides. So, this winter there’s something to keep small children entertained. Between 11:00am and 4:00pm from November until the end of January, younger guests have the Muddy Duck Tractors, Jungle Carousel, Helitoys, Mischief Mansion, Wacky Races and the Exploratorium to keep them entertained.
Then, from February onwards, Dino-Stone Park will also be fully open, allowing everyone to enjoy Twistosarus, Cyclosaur, Pterodactyl, Dino Roller and Rotataur!
The entire Flamingo Land Theme Park will be open again from 21st March 2015.
EAT, DRINK, SHOP AND BE MERRY
Throughout our winter opening, we’ve made sure that there’ll always be a delicious choice of hot and cold food available. For brunch, lunch and afternoon tea, our latest restaurant, The Mansion House & Tea Rooms, will be opening its doors to guests. This lovingly restored Georgian country house creates an ideal backdrop to the festive season, including the opportunity for younger guests to meet Santa on selected dates up until Christmas Eve.
The Muddy Duck Café will be providing a mouth-watering range of freshly filled baguettes, sweet and savoury pastries, muffins and cakes, complemented by Costa coffee, speciality teas, rich hot chocolate and chilled juices.
Then, as February half term approaches, The Coach House will be opening its doors. Simply step inside and you’ll discover chilled beers, wines and spirits, plus a great menu packed with firm favourites, including homemade lasagne, steak & ale pie and Whitby scampi. What’s more, on Sundays, you’ll be able to enjoy the legendary Coach House carvery too!
For those visitors who enjoy a little retail therapy, there’ll be plenty of opportunity for you to indulge; Plaza Gifts and our Zoo Shop will be open daily, packed with a great range of Christmas stocking fillers and mementos of your day. Then, from February half term, these will be joined by our Dino Shop, providing even more fun ideas for you to discover.
