Yorkshire is the home of superb cooking, great diversity and an abundance of growers and producers.  We have some of the best local produce right here on our doorstep and even better, have some of the best chefs in the UK demonstrating real passion for cooking in kitchens across the county.

Chefs across the region

Yorkshire chefs elsewhere

Yorkshire is not short of famous faces when it comes to great tasting quality food, cooked with locally sourced ingredients. As well as a number of famous chefs cooking in the region, there are a few well known sons of Yorkshire operating elsewhere (but as they aren't in Yorkshire we can't say where exactly!)

Famous sons include..

John Benson-Smith - A Yorkshire lad who worked at Hazelwood Castle for 5 years and is a former judge on BBC TV's Masterchef.

Brian Turner - A highly regarded Yorkshire-born chef, was a regular on the BBC's hit television series 'Ready Steady Cook' and now ITV's 'Daily Cooks Challenge.'

Marco Pierre White - At the age of 33, Leeds-born Marco became the only British chef to win three Michelin stars. Recent TV work include ITV's 'Hell's Kitchen' and he has recently returned back to Yorkshire to partner Simon and Rena Gueller at The Box Tree, Ilkley.
