Reed Education is delighted to be supporting a reputable secondary school in their search for a <strong>Teacher of History</strong> to join their Humanities department from <strong> September 2026</strong>.</p> <p>This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic <strong>History specialist</strong>, <strong>ECT History Teacher</strong>, or experienced <strong>Humanities Teacher</strong> to make a lasting impact on student progress and achievement.</p> <p><strong>The Role</strong></p> <p>As a <strong>Teacher of History</strong>, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking History lessons across <strong>Key Stages 3 and 4.</strong></p> <p>You will:</p> <ul> <li>Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons in line with the National Curriculum</li><li>Teach a broad range of historical topics, developing students' understanding of key events, interpretations, and historical enquiry skills</li><li>Assess and monitor student progress, providing effective feedback to support attainment and achievement</li><li>Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity, discussion, and critical thinking</li><li>Prepare students for GCSE History examinations and support them in achieving their full potential</li><li>Contribute to the wider Humanities department and participate in enrichment activities such as history clubs, educational visits, and themed events</li></ul> <p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p> <ul> <li>Qualified Teacher Status (<strong>QTS</strong>) or equivalent</li><li>A degree in <strong>History</strong> or a related subject</li><li>Experience teaching <strong>History at secondary level</strong> in the UK</li><li>Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills</li><li>Excellent communication and organisational abilities</li><li>A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare</li><li>Experience teaching <strong>GCSE History</strong> is highly desirable</li><li>Experience teaching <strong>A-Level History</strong>, <strong>Humanities</strong>, or related subjects would be advantageous</li></ul> <p><strong>Why Register with Reed Education?</strong></p> <p>Reed Education is one of the UK's leading education recruitment agencies.
