Finance Assistant
We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused <strong>Finance Assistant</strong> to join our busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounting skills who enjoys working in a varied role and contributing to the efficient day-to-day running of the finance function.<br /><br /><strong>Key Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant: </strong> <ul> <li>Accurately process and maintain sales and purchase ledger transactions, ensuring all invoices, credit notes, receipts, and expenses are recorded promptly.</li><li>Monitor and reconcile customer and supplier accounts, resolving discrepancies where required.</li><li>Support the credit control function by following up on outstanding balances and building positive relationships with customers.</li><li>Produce regular management information, including sales reports and cash flow updates</li><li>Complete routine account reconciliations, including bank accounts, petty cash, and intercompany balances, ensuring financial records remain accurate.</li><li>Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and account reviews.</li><li>Prepare documentation and schedules to support internal and external audits.</li><li>Provide administrative and operational support across the finance team, including covering colleagues during periods of absence.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and contribute to maintaining efficient accounting procedures.</li></ul> <br />The successful candidate will have: <ul> <li>Previous experience in an accounts or finance role.</li><li>A sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.</li><li>Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.</li><li>Good communication skills and confidence when dealing with customers and suppliers.</li><li>Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.</li><li>A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.</li></ul>
